Meet NYS winners in Conference News magazine’s CN30 Under Thirty

Venue and events experts from NYS and our sister company, Capita Travel and Events, have won places in Conference News magazine’s CN30 Under Thirty.

The new initiative has been developed by Conference News and Cvent, to honour the conference and meetings industry’s top young talent.

NYS Corporates’ Rebecca George and Rebecca Pryjdun, Capita Travel and Events’ Drew Forshaw, attended the inaugural awards event on Monday 30 October, where it was announced that all three had made it into CN30. Camm & Hooper’s Victorian Bath House in Central London played host to the event, following a review of nominations by a panel of industry expert judges.

Liz Agostini, publishing director, CN, says, “The industry is not short of talent, but sometimes those in the early years of their careers can get drowned out in the noise. It’s time that we, as trade press, take these future leaders seriously and give them the appreciation they deserve.”

Rebecca George, Events Project Executive

A strong and diligent events manager, Rebecca has an ambition for success, underpinned by a passion for the events industry. Detail orientated, reliable, flexible and personable, she works well in team environments and under her own initiative. Rebecca strives to make the most of every opportunity to ensure events exceed clients’ expectations.

During the past 11 months, working for NYS as an Events Project Executive, she has pitched and secured a series of UK and overseas pharma events, including America. She manages multiple aspects of customer events, from maximising technology for designing websites and managing delegate registrations, through to onsite and post-event management.

Rebecca achieved a BA Hons (2:1) degree in Events Management, and has over seven years’ experience in the events industry. She have worked on a diverse range of events from congresses, small and large scale UK based conference and dinners, to international conferences and exhibitions.

Rebecca Pryjdun, Account Manager

Rebecca Pryjdun has been working in business travel, events and conference management for seven years.  She currently manages some of NYS Corporate’s longest standing client partnerships, including SPIE, NATS and the University of York, for whom she has delivered record breaking savings rates and high levels of booking compliance.  As part of this, Rebecca has been instrumental in the introduction of time and resource savings technologies for clients, whether that’s NYS or third party technology solutions.

Prior to joining NYS Corporate, Rebecca’s background included senior management roles with major hotel chains, such as Marriott, Hilton Worldwide and Compass Group.  Having worked her way up from Event Management Assistant to Sales Manager with world-renowned brands, Rebecca has both the on-the-ground experience and the managerial oversight to forecast market trends and proactively pursue business travel and conference savings.
